“Stalagmites & Friends”

2015, A culminating exhibition for a month-long residency with Seattle Demo Project

In late 2015, I began a month long residency in a home scheduled for demolition. Previously, the home had been dissected by architects [myself among them] & revealed in a choreographed manner. The goal of this residency was to commemorate the demolition of a century-old home – a memorial.

In the very beginning, I knew I wanted the space to feel occupied – the metaphor I kept repeating was ‘a spider spinning sculptures in the attic’. I looked for visual languages
